ClickUp integration for bug reporting

Every new report creates a task in the ClickUp list you choose — with the screenshot, the technical data and the mapped custom fields. Change a mapped field on the ClickUp side and the change travels back into the Bugzio report. This is the deepest integration we have.

What it does

How it works

Task creation, attachments, field mapping and the sync back — four parts that work together.

A task from every report

A new report creates a task in the chosen list. The description carries the project name, the page address, the reporter email and the browser string, so the task makes sense without opening Bugzio at all.

Screenshot and recording as attachments

The screenshot is attached to the task right after it is created; a screen or voice recording follows as soon as the widget has finished uploading it.

Custom field mapping

Widget fields can be wired to ClickUp custom fields: Bugzio reads the list’s fields and offers them in a dropdown. Unmapped fields are not lost — they are appended to the task description as “Label: value”.

Sync back over a signed webhook

Bugzio registers the ClickUp webhook for the task-updated event itself and verifies the signature on every delivery. If the webhook cannot reach the server, a polling fallback regularly re-reads recently changed tasks.

Data flow

What syncs, and in which direction

Two columns and no gloss: on the left what Bugzio sends, on the right what comes back.

Two-way

Bugzio → ClickUp

  • A new report becomes a task in the chosen list.
  • Title, description, project, page address, reporter and browser.
  • Screenshot, video and voice recording as task attachments.
  • The values of mapped custom fields; the rest go into the description.

ClickUp → Bugzio

  • Changes to mapped custom fields come back into the report.
  • The webhook delivers a change immediately; polling catches it even when the webhook is unreachable.
  • Honestly: task status and comments do not travel back yet — what syncs is the mapped fields.

Setup

Three steps to working

You need a ClickUp API token and a list ID; both come from ClickUp itself.

Add the ClickUp token

Paste your ClickUp API token into the workspace settings in the Bugzio panel. It is stored encrypted, and the test button tells you straight away whether the connection works.

Point at a list and map the fields

Enter the list ID in the project settings. Bugzio reads that list’s custom fields and you choose which widget field matches which.

Register the webhook

One button and Bugzio creates the ClickUp webhook pointing back at itself. From that moment the sync runs both ways.

Try it first

Every new account starts with a 14-day trial, and the number of reporters is never capped — an account is only needed by the people working in the panel.
