WordPress plugin for bug reporting

The Bugzio plugin installs the widget on a WordPress site without editing theme files. The same plugin carries image optimisation and a speed module, so installing it pays off even when reports arrive rarely.

What it does

How it works

Three modules in one plugin; each can be switched on by itself.

The widget without editing code

After activation you only paste the project token. Colour, position, button text, language and which diagnostics are collected are all in the plugin settings.

Logged-in details filled in already

When the reporter is logged into WordPress, the plugin attaches their name and email to the report automatically — one less field to fill in.

Image optimisation

Media library images are converted to WebP and compressed. The result is saved next to the original, and the original itself is never modified.

The speed module

HTML, CSS and JS minification, full-page caching for logged-out visitors and browser cache headers. This module runs locally, with no external calls.

Data flow

What syncs, and in which direction

Two columns and no gloss: on the left what Bugzio sends, on the right what comes back.

What the plugin puts on your site

  • The reporting widget in the colour, position and language you chose.
  • WebP versions of media library images, leaving the originals untouched.
  • Minified CSS and JS files and page caching, when the speed module is on.
  • An overview of which Bugzio services are enabled for the project.

What the plugin sends to Bugzio

  • The reports your visitors create in the widget, with their technical data.
  • The images you handed over for optimisation — and only those.
  • Nothing else: the plugin does not send posts, your user list or database content.

Setup

Three steps to working

About five minutes, if the project token is already to hand.

Download the plugin

The download button sits in the project settings in the Bugzio panel. The plugin is free.

Upload and activate

In WordPress admin choose the plugin upload, point it at the zip file you downloaded and activate it.

Paste the project token

Paste the project token into the plugin settings — the field is labelled “API key” — and the widget appears on the site straight away. WordPress offers later updates by itself.

Try it first

Every new account starts with a 14-day trial, and the number of reporters is never capped — an account is only needed by the people working in the panel.

The other integrations

If this is not the integration you came for, the rest are here — each with its own page and an honest description of which way the data moves.

Set it up once, and reports find their own way

The widget on your site, a report with all the technical data, and an integration that carries it to your team.
